What We Believe
We are the Church of Christ, an autonomous undenominational Christian church dedicated to the original teachings of Jesus Christ and the Apostles whom he chose. We are affiliated with the Churches of Christ across the globe who strive to uphold the unifying teachings and living mandates of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
The Church of Christ was founded by Jesus Christ in AD33 in the city of Jerusalem, as promised by Christ in (Matthew 16:18). The teachings of that church as recorded in (Acts 2:36-42 & 47) produced the first Christians. This teaching was then spread across the world as commanded by Jesus Christ in (Matthew 28:18-20). As a result of this gospel reaching the West, the Southside congregation of the Church of Christ was established in Seattle in 1973. Since then, we have been a burning light for the gospel of Jesus Christ in the state of Washington.
We believe the Bible is the Word of God and it is without doctrinal error. It is doctrinally complete and it does not contradict itself. We believe in Jesus Christ as the only divine Savior for all of mankind. We believe that only the gospel as taught and exemplified by Jesus Christ and his apostles contains the power to save men’s souls. Therefore, there is a pattern to be observed and followed.
Our Uniqueness
- We come together to worship on Sunday (Acts 20:7)
- We sing acappella (Matt 26:30)
- We pray (1 Thess 5:17-18)
- We give as God prospers each Sunday (1 Cor 16:1-2)
- We remember the Lord’s sacrifice in communion each Sunday (1 Cor 11:23-26)
We preach from the Bible in a way in which you can easily follow along.
